Dr. Leon Roda, III
Practicing Advanced Dentistry, Orthodontics, Implants, and More
Dr. Roda received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Andrews University in 1987. After graduating from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1993, he went on to complete a year of comprehensive orthodontics and TMJ training with the International Association of Orthodontics, while practicing full-time at Jackson Creek Dental Group.
Dr. Roda joined Jackson Creek Dental Group in 2001 with the goal of providing exceptional dental care in a “seriously cutting-edge practice,” enhanced by continuing education and training. As an avid photographer, Dr. Roda is enthusiastic about applying his knowledge and expertise in this area to his dentistry.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the International Association of Orthodontics, and the Sacramento District Dental Society.
Dr. Roda’s free time is spent with his family. His hobbies include computers and photography and he is proud of the fact that some of his photographs have been published in the Pacific Union Recorder.
Sierra, Registered Dental Hygienist
Sierra joined our practice in July, 2017 after completing her Bachelor of Science in Hygiene at University of Pacific in Stockton. She worked in our office as part of her ROP training in high school, where she shadowed one of our hygienists. It is because of her positive experiences here at Jackson Creek Dental Group, along with the exposure to dental hygiene and the true inner workings of the dental office, that she decided to move forward with hygiene school. Sierra is excited to develop one-on- one relationships with her patients and be able to provide them with the best dental care possible.
Born and raised right here in Ione, Sierra and her family are long time residents of Amador County. When she’s not at work, you might find her fishing in one of our nearby fresh water lakes for bass, or doing volunteer work with Camp Out for Cancer, the Ione Community Blood Drive and CDA Cares. Sierra might also be cuddling with her German Shorthair Lulu, who used to be an awesome hunting dog but has become a couch potato in her older years.
Star, Patient Coordinator
Star joined Jackson Creek Dental Group in 2008, bringing with her over 10 years in the banking industry. Prior to that, she worked as a supervisor at the Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel. Providing exceptional customer service has always been a top priority for Star, and she loves focusing on each and every patient that is part of our dental family.
Star joined Jackson Creek Dental Group because she believed it would be a great place to work and would allow her to pursue a new career in a field that is totally oriented towards servicing people. She also finds the staff here at the practice to be very kind and extremely personable. “Everyone is focused on making sure the patient has the best possible experience while visiting our office.”
Family is an important part of Star’s life. She spends a lot of time with her son hiking at local lakes and just driving around and doing whatever comes along. Star is an avid reader, spending many hours reading suspense and legal mysteries. She and her son are also movie buffs and theme park “junkies.”
Kristen, Registered Dental Assistant
Kristen joined the Jackson Creek Dental Family in 2023. Kristen came from another office in Tracy and moved to the area with her fiancé. We are so blessed to have such a hardworking caring individual working in the practice. She went to school at Carrington College in Stockton. Kristen loves dentistry and the work she assists with to make people feel more confident in their smile.
Kristen is always eager to learn and grow. Kristen supports all the doctors in preforming world class dentistry and is flexible changing tasks quickly. She enjoys the office due to the size and the variety of procedures that get performed in the office. She is constantly growing to give the best care possible to coworkers and patients.
Kristen looks forward to grow her family by getting married, having kids and LOTS of dogs. Kristen loves the outdoors and would like to have her own producing garden soon. Kristen enjoys water sports like wakeboarding and boating. When it is not boating season she enjoys working on projects around her home.
Rachel, Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions 2, Orthodontic Assistant
Joining Jackson Creek Dental Group in 2017, Rachel has consistently pursued expanding her
education. Rachel graduated from Fade Institutes in 2023 with her Extended Functions 2 license and has her Orthodontic Assistant certification too. Rachel continually seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills in the dental field.
Rachel is kind, friendly , and very easy to get along with. She fits in great with Dr. Simpson’s team by staying busy and active on the team. She was raised in Jackson and attended Argonaut High. In her free time she is spending time with her growing family, hiking, paddle boarding, and camping.
